Pong Devlog


With my simple Pong recreation, I believe I was able to implement all of the basic necessities, as well as a couple of extra features. Included is:

-Moveable paddles which cannot leave the confines of the viewable scene

-A ball which always moves in a random direction, both at the start of the game and when reset

-Correct reflected angles and no loss of ball speed

-Very basic graphics showing the ball, arena and center line

-A functioning AI opponent

-A viewable score system, as well as a score limit of 10

-Multiple scenes, such as menus, options to play again, etc

Unfortunately, due to bad time management, I wasn't able to include any sound effects, interesting graphics, and varying ball speeds depending on how many times it had been hit. This was essentially a Game Jam, which wasn't very smart by me. With bigger future projects, I plan to manage my time better.

I didn't use ChatGPT or Github Copilot, nor did I use any third party assets or sounds. However, I did watch a few YouTube tutorials which proved very useful. Here are all the links to said videos:
